ABOUT NATURAL BALANCE
Elizabeth Wilson Laing is a registered nurse and a licensed acupuncturist
in the state of North Carolina . She is certified by the National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as well as the North Carolina
Acupuncture Licensing Board. Elizabeth graduated from East Carolina University
, Greenville , North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1999
and the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego , California
with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2005. Elizabeth
has studied under many prominent figures in the Oriental medicine field including
Alex Tiberi, Bob Damone, Zev Rosenberg, Lynda Harvey, Mary Elizabeth Wakefield,
Dr. Richard Tan, and Matt Callison.
Her nursing career consists of rehabilitation and home health
nursing, and she has worked with many complex medical, traumatic
brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury patients. She enjoys
working with medical doctors and other healthcare professionals
to give patients optimal care. Elizabeth 's passion for helping
others has motivated her to seek environments where her knowledge
and skills can best be utilized.
While studying in San Diego , she participated in an extensive
internship with the University of California at San Diego Medical
School geriatric clinic. At this internship, Elizabeth learned
creative ways to treat acute and chronic pain as well as internal
medicine cases in the geriatric population. She has also worked
with the Acupuncture Center of La Jolla where she assisted in acupuncture
treatments for several fertility and women's health cases.
Elizabeth currently resides with her husband Scott and dog Cassie
in Wilmington , NC . She enjoys treating acute and chronic pain,
internal medicine, women's health, and fertility cases. She believes
that the integration of Eastern and Western medicine is the future
of modern healthcare.
